Whimsical musings of a Software Engineer, Seattlite, and Father

Less than a week

by Leonard

There is now less than 1 week until the big day! Crazy! I am excited. Friday we had the Bachelor/Bachelorette party. It was pretty low key at a local karaoke bar. We had a great time. We bought a photo printer and a web cam to set up our own photo booth. The software we found on the Windows 8 store is pretty awesome. We're going to use Rachel's laptop. I had hoped to use the surface, but unfortunately, Logitech has decided not to pursue creating a driver for their HD webcam for Windows RT. So, our photo booth won't have a touch screen, but it's still going to be really cool.

Yesterday, Rachel had her bridal shower. While she was busy with that, I took some time to write my vows. Rachel decided she loves them so much that she wants to use them as well! Bonus point Leonard! Rachel did help a little with a couple of the lines as I was putting the final touches in. Here they are:

These past 4 years have been an amazing journey.

The joys I have experienced with you are immeasurable.

You have brought me much laughter

You have captivated me and challenged me like no other

You have been a loving mother/father to our beautiful children

You have lifted me up when I felt down and have had faith in me to be there for you

You have been the most amazing best friend I have ever known.

You have been my inspiration and have become a part of my being

For all these reasons and more, I have fallen in love with you over and over

Today, I ask in front of these witnesses for you to take my hand in marriage

To walk with me always through this life and be mine.

I ask to work with you, to find strength in one another

and grow with each other, side by side and forever.

With this ring I promise to Cherish our Love and Family

I vow to always walk with you on our journey, where ever our path may lead

I pledge to always be your best friend,

to challenge and frustrate you

And to be your true partner in life

I promise to always protect you and to be open and honest with you

Today I solemnly declare my unwavering love for you and our family

We still have quite a few things to wrap up. This week is more than likely going to be a bit crazy, but I have faith that it is all going to work out in the end.
